Oakhurst Primary School have a vacancy for a permanent Caretaker for 41 weeks per year (term time plus two weeks) for 30 hours per week. There may also be a requirement for occasional weekend overtime.
Our Caretaker should be someone who has/is:
An enthusiastic and positive attitude;
Good practical skills;
A thorough understanding of Health & Safety, security and property care.
Knowledge of moving and handling practices;
Perform premises compliance duties, ie weekly fire alarm
Excellent communication skills;
An understanding of the demands and needs of working in a school;
Able to work as part of a dedicated and committed team;
Willing to be flexible in relation to the working hours; as some split shift and weekend working may be required;
Willing to undertake job related training;
Willing to undertake ‘lettings’ (i.e. when building is used outside normal hours);
Able to act as an emergency key holder and attend the site in an emergency;
Checking and locking the building when needed.
Setting up/down of the dining room for school lunches
Setting up tables/seating and equipment for school events
A clean driving licence
Have experience of general building maintenance work and minor repairs
Some grounds maintenance work
